Resumo:In recent decades research on narcoculture in Mexico has increased; how ever, in these research, many forms to define, characterize and understand it have emerged, which it can lead to confusion. This paper is a result of a documentary research about narcoculture as object of study. It exposes the analyzes have been made about narcoculture as social constructions that create life expectancies and legitimize drug trafficking, through symbolic forms such as music, literature, television series, religion, architecture and films concerning drug trafficking; as well as, shows the symbolic contents involved such as ostentation, luxury, violence, death, territory, the presence of women, power, illegality and corruption and other similar things. In addition, this text exposes the scope and challenges of studies about narcoculture, which is not an irrelevant social phenomenon: it corresponds to the cultural dimension of drug trafficking.
