Resumo:At present, it is inherent to obtain energy from alternative and renewable sources, within these, solar energy is firmly positioned as one of the main options to solve this problem. The third generation of solar cells, sensitized with dye (DSSC), offers a wide field of opportunity for research. In this work, the effect of the structural modification of the semiconductor (TiO2) and the doping with Neodymium in the cell performance is analyzed. In the semiconductor, it was chosen to carry out the synthesis of the same on the conducting glass (FTO), which would later conform the photo-anode, with a one-dimensional structure (nano-crystalline rods of titanium dioxide in rutile phase), recent publications Have reported the advantages to transport electrons from them. It has been decided to dope the rods with one element of the lanthanide group, Neodymium, having two purposes, on the one hand, to increase the injection of excited electrons, and likewise, to decrease the recombination rate of the electron pair hollow within the cell.
