Omschrijving
Samenvatting:Sea salt production in Mexico uses traditional systems for filling, brine treatment, and storage. Access to the electrical distribution network is generally not available due to the salinity of the soil. In the Laguna de Cuyutlán in the southwest of the state of Colima, Mexico, the production process requires that the pumping of seawater be carried out by means of generator equipment for use in motor pumps at specific hours of the morning, due to the high solar radiation exposure. In the present work, an isolated photovoltaic system with battery backup applied to the pumping systems is developed, controlled semi-automatically by using the Arduino board. The goal is to improve industrial infrastructure and increase the efficiency of traditional salt production processes. From the implementation of an isolated photovoltaic system (IPVS), the process of pumping seawater is improved in a semi-automatic way, compared to the traditional process, avoiding the expense of fuel in generator equipment.
