According to the results of this work, we suggest that pH-density correlations may be an important option in the development of algorithms for monitoring CO2 from satellite imagery. Se encontró una relación entre el pH y la densidad de aguas superficiales y subsuperficiales de una región de la Antártica y las de la costa oeste de Baja California. En las aguas de la Antártica, el pH se encontró bien correlacionado con la densidad y la salinidad pero no con la temperatura porque la estabilidad de la columna de agua era controlada por la salinidad. En la costa occidental de Baja California se encontró lo opuesto, dado que la densidad era controlada por temperatura. Esto demuestra que el pH sigue a la densidad, independientemente de qué la controle. De acuerdo con los resultados de este trabajo, se sugiere que la relación pH-densidad puede ser una opción importante en el desarrollo de algoritmos para monitoreos de CO2 a partir de imágenes de satélite.
