A total of 102 taxa belonging to 50 families and 80 genera were identified. The families with the most number of species were Cynoglossidae, Carangidae and Paralichthydae. This collection represents the first step to future research on the biodiversity of fishes of this tropical region that has been little studied. The ichthyoplankton collection was catalogued and deposited in the Centro de Ecología Costera of the Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico. Se presenta el primer listado sistemático de larvas de peces marinos de las costas del estado de Jalisco y Colima (México). Las larvas fueron recolectadas mediante arrastres oblicuos con una red Bongo, durante 11 campañas entre diciembre de 1995 y diciembre de 1996. El elenco incluye 102 taxa, agrupadas en 50 familias y 80 géneros. Las familias Cynoglossidae, Carangidae y Paralichthydae fueron las de mayor riqueza específica. Esta colección representa el primer paso para futuras investigaciones en el estudio de la biodiversidad de peces de esta región tropical que ha sido poco estudiada. Los especímenes recolectados se encuentran depositados en la colección de ictioplancton del Centro de Ecología Costera de la Universidad de Guadalajara.
