A new species, Biffarius debilis, was discovered and represents the fourth species of this genus and the first in the American Pacific. Una colección de camarones talasínidos fue obtenida en hábitats de zonas intermareales y submareales de islas y bahías del Pacífico tropical mexicano. El material consta de cinco especies, entre las que se encuentra Axianassa mineri Boone, 1931, una especie que no había sido citada desde la descripción original.
