We gathered data on 10 species of Pelecaniformes, 14 species of Ciconiiformes, 6 species of terns and on black skimmers. Many of these species have not been well documented in the area we covered. We describe our findings, including data on breeding and general observations. Con el fin de estudiar la avifauna costera de la Costa Chica de Oaxaca, realizamos prospecciones por esta región en el otoño de 1995 y el verano y otoño de 1996. Durante estas visitas concentramos nuestros esfuerzos en lagunas costeras de diferentes tipos y bocabarras, aunque también realizamos un par de prospecciones por mar y revisamos algunas playas arenosas, Hicimos observaciones sobre 10 especies de Pelecaniformes, 14 de Ciconiiformes, 6 de gallitos marinos y sobre rayadores. Muchas de estas especies han sido poco documentadas en el área de estudio. Este trabajo describe nuestras observaciones sobre cada una de las especies, incluyendo datos sobre su reproducción y observaciones generales.
