The purpose is to illustrate the difficulty challenge that this ancestral group faces in the near future. En este artículo se hace una breve descripción de la situación actual que enfrenta la comunidad cucapá El Mayor, para esto se toman en  consideración algunos acontecimientos históricos, el cambio de su entorno natural y su modo de procurarse el sustento. El propósito es ilustrar el difícil reto que enfrenta en el futuro inmediato este grupo indígena ancestral.
