With the information derived from the structure of household income, the Gini and Foster- Greer-Thorbecke (FGT) coefficients were calculated for total income. Results indicate values of 63.3%, 72.7% and 88.9% for the incidence of food poverty, capability and patrimony, respectively. Se analiza el efecto de las remesas sobre la desigualdad y la pobreza por ingresos, en el municipio de Santa Inés Yatzeche, en el Estado de Oaxaca. Para alcanzar el objetivo, en 2011 se realizó una encuesta a 117 jefes de hogar, que representó 54.9% del total de jefes de la comunidad. Con la información derivada de la estructura de ingresos de las familias, se calcularon los coeficientes de Gini y Foster-Greer-Thorbecke (fgt) para el ingreso total. Los resultados indican una baja concentración del ingreso, coherente con el valor encontrado de 0.363 para el coeficiente de Gini.
