Sumario:This document analyzes the economic and demographic dynamics in Baja California, which has been characterized for being different from the rest of the country, due to the constant population flows arriving at the region. Through a deductive analysis it shows that, due to its strong links with the California economy, during the crisis in 2009 the state economy was affected mainly in the manufacturing and construction sectors. However and contrary to what happened in other states in the country, there were important compensatory effects on the primary and commercial sectors. These same links are propelling a careful employment recovery in the small business mainly, with its respective impacts on the rest of the economy.
