Summary: | The present paper presents an application to the case of the European cross-border cooperation policy (CBC). Specifically, the CBC carried out at the Spanish-Portuguese border is reviewed from a functional perspective. Understanding by results: 1) what progress or recoils have been made in the deactivation of this secular border —that is, the border effect has been eliminated—, 2) what obstacles remain outstanding and 3) what are the future challenges. |
