Sumario:The article presented here focuses its analysis on the issues of male migration and rural domestic groups. The objective is to identify ways in which male migration affects the dynamics of everyday domestic groups in a rural community in the municipality of Salamanca, Guanajuato. It puts special emphasis on the impact of migration for the mothers and wives of migrants. For field data were used the following tools: the survey and semi–structured interview. The main results found that migration requires domestic groups to redistribute their activities, being the wives of migrants who mainly increase their workload and responsibilities, which does not happen with mothers.
