Shrnutí:Between 1882 and 1888, Sarmiento produced a series of texts and projects aimed to discuss and modify the treatment that animals received in Argentina, both by individuals and state institutions. In addition to the publication of articles in the press about this subject, the axis of interest led him to become, from 1882 to 1885, president of the Sociedad Argentina para la Protección de los Animales.
