Analysis of angle type shear connectors in steel and concrete composite beams

For this, 14 test specimens were made, 7 containing connectors with 45° orientations and another seven at 90°; these test specimens were subjected to push-out tests, obtaining load-slip data, which were treated statistically to be later used in behavior analysis of the connectors. Parameters such as strength, ductility, rigidity, and failure modes were analyzed. The failure mode that prevailed in all the test tubes was the fractionation in the entire width of the concrete; in terms of ductility, connectors with a 45° orientation are considered malleable according to the Eurocode. In addition, the characteristic stiffness is greater for connectors with a 90° orientation; These parameters were compared in both types of connectors, and it was concluded that those with a 90° orientation have higher resistance. Therefore, they are the most suitable for use in construction.
