This research was focused on analyzing the results of the first National Assessment of Academic Achievement for Scholar Centers (ENLACE; acronym in Spanish) applied during the year 2006 in the Municipality of Juarez (State of Chihuahua, Mexico). In order to conduct the spatial analysis a geographical information system (GIS) was used to make a georeferenced database were all variables were connected to a point representing a school. Results of the examinations expressed as deficient, elemental, good en excellent were spatially distributed over the urban area of Ciudad Juárez. Apparently there is a high spatial correlation between ENLACE’s results with the socioeconomic level of people. In this way results going from good to excellent were spatially located over the sectors more developed of the city. Poor results going from Insufficient to Elemental were spatially located at places with higher deficits of infrastructure and low socioeconomic levels. Se analizaron los resultados de la base de datos de la aplicación de la Evaluación Nacional de Logro Académico en Centros Escolares para el Municipio de Juárez (estado de Chihuahua, México). Dicha evaluación fue aplicada por primera vez en el año 2006, en su respectivo ciclo escolar. Un primer objetivo consistió en evaluar si esta evaluación es estadísticamente robusta para representar los problemas de educación en la ciudad. El segundo objetivo del estudio fue el de proveer elementos analíticos para mejorar las condiciones de educación en la ciudad, para lo cual se incluye una georreferenciación de las principales variables en un sistema de información geográfica. Así, se analizaron los resultados en un contexto espacial urbano y su relación con variables socioeconómicas representadas por la jerarquía socioespacial y por el déficit de infraestructura urbana. Se encontró una relación entre los resultados de bueno y excelente en las zonas de alta jerarquía socioespacial y alta cobertura de servicios básicos.
