The presence in the school aimed to understand how teachers would re-create the public policy of formation that is established by the Secretary of Education of this City Hall. I participated in two formation groups composed by school teachers from the initial education levels and the management team. I collaborated with the educational work of two teachers in the classroom. The encounter with the school subjects led me to reflect on the meanings of my presence in the school, in particular, from the teachers considerations indicating the importance of dialogue, collaboration and help from the researcher in the school. This work presents theoretical and methodological contributions to understand to what end and why “research in and with the school” and highlights the need for researchers to assume a commitment to teachers, students and school. The work was developed from a qualitative study of socio-historical orientation that, from a dialogical perspective, considers the research as a relationship between subjects and the interaction plays a key role in the formation of subjectivities, allowing teachers and the researcher to create new meaning in the research process. En este trabajo socializo mi experiencia como investigadora en una escuela primaria en una ciudad del estado de San Paulo, Brasil, durante dos años. La presencia en la escuela tenía como objetivo comprender cómo las profesoras recreaban la política pública de formación que se desprendía de la Secretaría Municipal de Educación de esa Municipalidad. Participé en dos grupos de formación que estaban constituidos por las profesoras de los primeros grados y el equipo de gestión. Colaboré con el trabajo pedagógico de dos profesoras en sus clases. El encuentro con los sujetos de la escuela me movilizó a reflexionar sobre los sentidos de mi presencia en la escuela, especialmente, a partir de las consideraciones de las profesoras que indicaban la importancia de la interlocución, de la colaboración y de la ayuda de la investigadora en el espacio escolar. Este trabajo trae contribuciones teórico-metodológicas para comprender el para qué y el por qué de “investigar en y con la escuela” y destaca la necesidad de que los investigadores asumamos un compromiso con los profesores, los alumnos y la escuela. El trabajo fue desarrollado a partir de una investigación cualitativa de orientación socio-histórica que, a partir de una perspectiva dialógica, considera a la investigación como una relación entre sujetos y donde la interacción asume un papel fundamental en la constitución de las subjetividades posibilitando que las profesoras y la investigadora se resignifiquen en el proceso de investigación.
