There are large inequality gaps between the states in Mexico that have persisted over time despite the fact that the data indicate that education has become more equal in all of the country’s states. El presente trabajo aborda el estudio de la desigualdad educativa en México, en el caso de sus entidades federativas. Para abordar dicho análisis se utilizó una adaptación de la técnica estadística conocida como el Coeficiente de Gini. Los resultados muestran la existencia de marcadas asimetrías en materia educativa. Al interior de México existen profundas brechas de desigualdad entre las entidades federativas, brechas que han permanecido a través del tiempo a pesar de que los datos indican que la educación se ha vuelto más igualitaria en todos los estados del país.
