The sample was made up of the 2014-2018 class (314 students) in the Polytechnic University of Sinaloa (UPSIN), Mexico. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and beta regression were employed to determine whether average high school grade, parent occupation and level of education, and family socioeconomic level influenced exam results. The results show that the factors examined are determinant in student results in the EXANI-II exam. El propósito de este estudio es determinar si el factor escolar Promedio de bachillerato y factores socioeconómicos –como la ocupación y escolaridad de los padres, y el nivel socioeconómico de la familia–, influyen en los resultados del EXANI-II de manera general y en sus diferentes áreas de conocimiento y habilidades. La muestra estuvo conformada por la generación 2014-2018 de la Universidad Politécnica de Sinaloa (314 estudiantes). Se utilizó el análisis multivariante de la varianza (MANOVA) y la Regresión Beta para determinar si el promedio de bachillerato, la ocupación y escolaridad de los padres, y el nivel socioeconómico de la familia influyeron en los resultados del examen. Los resultados muestran que los factores analizados son determinantes en los resultados obtenidos por los estudiantes en el EXANI II. O objetivo deste estudo é determinar se o fator escolar média do ensino médio e fatores socioeconômicos como a ocupação e escolaridade dos pais, e o nível socioeconômico da família influenciam nos resultados do EXANI-II de forma geral e em suas diferentes áreas de conhecimento e habilidades. A amostra foi composta pela geração 2014-2018 (314 alunos) da Universidade Politécnica de Sinaloa, no México. A análise de variância multivariada (MANOVA) e a regressão Beta foram utilizadas para determinar se a média do ensino médio, a ocupação e escolaridade dos pais, e o nível socioeconômico da família influenciavam nos resultados dos exames. Os resultados mostram que os fatores analisados são determinantes nos resultados obtidos pelos alunos no EXANI II. Universidad Autónoma de Baja California.
