In this presentation it is proposed and justified an integrated model of research and development that could be applicable to the building, implementation and evaluation of the teaching and transfer of thinking skills. First, the principles underlying the development of thought are presented; next, the role of research in the construction and application of the intellectual development and process-based learning model; its components and interrelations are identified. Finally, the role of research in the design and application of projects aiming at the development of thinking skills is analyzed. En esta presentación se propone y justifica un modelo integrado. de investigación y desarrollo aplicable a la construcción, implantación y evaluación de proyectos para la enseñanza y transferencia de habilidades de pensamiento. Se fija una posición ante el desarrollo del pensamiento y luego se establece el papel de la investigación en la construcción y validación de modelos educativos para desarrollar facultades intelectuales. Se analizan las variables que intervienen en la construcción y aplicación del modelo de desarrollo intelectual y de aprendizaje basado en procesos; se identifican sus componentes y sus interrelaciones. Finalmente, se analiza el papel de la investigación en el diseño y aplicación de proyectos para el desarrollo de habilidades de pensamiento.
