This administrative unit is important because it is responsible for managing the institution’s academic services at graduate level. A qualitative methodology was used based on in-depth interviews with graduate-level directors, experts in knowledge management and members of the institution. The results obtained support the use of administrative management tools based on Information Technology (IT), such as the design of a comprehensive dashboard, and the proposal that knowledge management processes be automated with digital repositories. The model identifies factors such as the relationships between people, technology, administrative knowledge and knowledge management processes, and is formed with innovative administrative contributions. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar un modelo de gestión del conocimiento administrativo para la División de Apoyo al Posgrado del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). La importancia de esta unidad administrativa radica en que es la responsable de la gestión de los servicios escolares del posgrado del instituto. Se utilizó la metodología cualitativa basada en entrevistas a profundidad a directivos de nivel posgrado, a expertos en gestión del conocimiento (GC) y actores institucionales. Los resultados obtenidos permiten recomendar el uso de herramientas de gestión administrativa basadas en Tecnologías de la Información, como el diseño de un tablero de mando integral y la propuesta de automatizar los procesos de gestión del conocimiento con repositorios digitales. El modelo identifica factores como las relaciones de las personas, la tecnología, el conocimiento administrativo y los procesos de GC, constituyéndose en aportaciones de administración innovadoras.
