A qualitative research methodology is used, and it is focused on the analysis of official public documents issued by the above mentioned organizations of regional integration, which follow a set of guidelines in terms of regional citizenship. The importance of the paper lies in the reflection upon the kind of citizen and the concept of citizenship that derives from the guidelines promoted by CAN, Mercosur, and Unasur. In this sense, it shows that a multiplicity of legal status hides under the category of citizenship, and that they serve as selection, hierarchization and differential inclusion mechanisms for regional migrants. 2018-10-23 2021-06-03T03:38:56Z 2021-06-03T03:38:56Z info:eu-repo/semantics/article info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728 10.21670/ref.1815015 https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12930/6909 spa eng https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728/1457 https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728/1458 https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728/1459 https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728/1460 https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728/1475 https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728/1476 https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728/1477 https://ref.uabc.mx/ojs/index.php/ref/article/view/728/1478 Derechos de autor 2018 Estudios Fronterizos text/html application/epub+zip application/pdf text/xml application/epub+zip text/html text/xml application/pdf South American region between the years 2002 and 2016 Región sudamericana entre los años 2002 y 2016 Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Estudios Fronterizos Revista; Vol. 19 (2018) Estudios Fronterizos; Vol. 19 (2018) 2395-9134 0187-6961
