Focusing on regions not traditionally considered "border areas", it is vital not only to understand the "spatial character of power", and of state processes, but also to dismantle the mechanisms that transform certain subjects into "authorized" and "non-authorized" bodies. authorized "to transit, stay or be recognized. In this sense, we seek an interpretation of spatial policies (physical and symbolic borders) in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara, Mexico. La creciente securitización y militarización de las políticas migratorias mexicanas en contra de la migración irregular ha dado pie a recientes refronterizaciones marcadas por el ensanchamiento y multiplicación de las fronteras a lo largo del territorio nacional, la consolidación de una “doble imaginación geográfica,” y los intentos de gubernamentalización de las migraciones en tránsito. Enfocarse en regiones no tradicionalmente consideradas “zonas fronterizas”, resulta vital no sólo para entender el “carácter espacial del poder”, y de los procesos estatales, sino también para desmantelar los mecanismos que transforman a determinados sujetos en cuerpos “autorizados” y “no autorizados” para transitar, permanecer o ser reconocidos.
