This study adopts a theoretical framework that serves as a basis to propose a method to identify and understand core practices in early childhood education. By following this theory through, it becomes possible to refine theoretical constructs to gain insight into the grammar of the practice, employing a methodology that examines representation, decomposition, and approximation. Key findings include a conceptualization of characteristic practices of early childhood education and guidelines constructed around a common language able to provide direction for the initial training of early childhood teachers.

Investigaciones recientes muestran que la educación infantil se ha convertido en un tema prioritario en las agendas públicas de varios países. Sin embargo, se ha centrado en identificar buenas prácticas pedagógicas en ese nivel educativo, aproximación que resulta poco clarificadora y no permite una transferencia sistemática a otros contextos. En el presente estudio se adopta un marco teórico y a partir de él se propone un método para identificar y comprender prácticas fundamentales en educación infantil. El seguimiento de la teoría permite refinar constructos teóricos con el fin de comprender la gramática de la práctica mediante una metodología que estudia la representación, descomposición y la aproximación. En las conclusiones destaca la conceptualización de prácticas características de la educación infantil, así como lineamientos que articulan un lenguaje común que permita orientar la formación inicial de docentes de primera infancia. Pesquisas recentes mostram que a educação infantil se tornou um tema prioritário nas agendas públicas de diversos países. No entanto, concentrou-se na identificação de boas práticas pedagógicas neste nível de ensino, aproximação pouco esclarecedora e que não permite uma transferência sistemática para outros contextos. No presente estudo se adota um referencial teórico e a partir dele propõe-se um método para identificar e compreender práticas fundamentais na educação infantil. O acompanhamento da teoria permite refinar construtos teóricos para compreender a gramática da prática por meio de uma metodologia que estuda a representação, decomposição e aproximação. Nas conclusões, destaca-se a conceituação de práticas características da educação infantil, bem como diretrizes que articulam uma linguagem comum que permita orientar a formação inicial de professores da primeira infância.
