Thus arises the objective of the present study, strengthen self-efficacy and coping, cognitive skills and social skills in high school adolescents in rural area, through the implementation of two programs of psycho-educational intervention. It is based on a quantitative methodology, pre-experimental design of descriptivo-correlacional scope; participating 96 adolescents. The results highlight an improvement in social skills; In addition to finding partnership between advanced social skills and self-efficacy, as well as active coping with social skills; there were changes in self-efficacy and coping. It is concluded that the program was effective in improving social skills of teenagers; however, it requires more time for the improvement of cognitive abilities, given the conditions of a rural area. Un enfoque basado en habilidades para la vida permite desarrollar competencias psicosociales en adolescentes; específicamente las habilidades cognitivas y sociales juegan un papel fundamental. Así surge el objetivo del presente estudio, fortalecer habilidades cognitivas como autoeficacia y afrontamiento, y habilidades sociales en adolescentes de secundaria de zona rural, a través de la implementación de dos programas de intervención psicoeducativa. Se basa en una metodología cuantitativa, con diseño pre-experimental de alcance descriptivo-correlacional, en el que participaron 96 adolescentes. Los resultados destacan una mejora en habilidades sociales; además de encontrar asociación entre habilidades sociales avanzadas y autoeficacia, así como en afrontamiento activo con las habilidades sociales; no se observaron cambios en autoeficacia ni afrontamiento. Se concluye que el programa fue efectivo al mejorar las habilidades sociales de los adolescentes; sin embargo, se requiere de mayor tiempo para el mejoramiento de las habilidades cognitivas, dadas las condiciones de una zona rural.
