The study was developed from a mixed embedded, mainly quantitative approach which was exploratory in scope. The results show a medium-high level of performance for digital skills (3.93) and information processing (3.82); and a high performance for teamwork skills (4.17) on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the highest score. It is concluded that, due to the age of the population, the results are not definitive, and further training in these skills is recommended. Este estudio responde a la necesidad de determinar si en un entorno educativo donde se integran las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) y la técnica didáctica de aprendizaje por proyectos, 68 estudiantes de 4o., 5o. y 6o. grados de una institución pública costarricense se han apropiado de las competencias digitales, tratamiento de la información y trabajo en equipo, indispensables para enfrentar los retos de la Sociedad del Conocimiento en que se vive. El estudio se desarrolla desde un enfoque mixto empotrado predominantemente cuantitativo con alcance exploratorio. Los resultados muestran un nivel de desempeño medio alto para las competencias digitales (3.93) y tratamiento de la información (3.82); y un desempeño alto para la competencia trabajo en equipo (4.17) bajo una escala del 1 al 5, siendo 5 la puntuación mayor. Se concluye que debido a la edad de la población, los resultados no son definitivos, y se recomienda seguir formando estas competencias.
