Description
Summary:Given the importance of reflecting upon teaching praxis, assessment of teacher performance remains one of the tools used to ensure the quality of education. The aim of this study was to identify the psychometric properties of the instrument given to students from a university in Sonora to gather opinions on the core competencies of professors teaching at undergraduate level, thus contributing to decision-making in the professor assessment process. From the 30,224 questionnaires answered, a factor analysis was performed (for construct validity) using the principal component method, extracting two factors that explain the 73.1% total variance. Three items were noted for their lack of clarity. An alpha of 0.97 was calculated (internal consistency). Although the results show that the instrument is valid and reliable, a deeper analysis of the content validity is recommended, with a view to strengthening it.
