From the 30,224 questionnaires answered, a factor analysis was performed (for construct validity) using the principal component method, extracting two factors that explain the 73.1% total variance. Three items were noted for their lack of clarity. An alpha of 0.97 was calculated (internal consistency). Although the results show that the instrument is valid and reliable, a deeper analysis of the content validity is recommended, with a view to strengthening it. Dada la importancia de reflexionar sobre la praxis docente, la evaluación del desempeño sigue vigente como uno de los recursos para asegurar la calidad de la educación. El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar las propiedades psicométricas del instrumento aplicado a estudiantes de una universidad de Sonora con el fin de recuperar su opinión sobre las competencias básicas del docente en la impartición de cursos de licenciatura, y contribuir así a la toma de decisiones en el proceso de evaluación docente. A partir de los 30,224 cuestionarios contestados se realizó un análisis factorial (validez de constructo) mediante el método de componentes principales, extrayéndose dos factores que explican el 73.1% de la varianza total; destacó la indefinición de 3 ítems. Se calculó un alfa de 0.97 (consistencia interna).
