Zusammenfassung:This paper presents the findings of a qualitative, comprehensive, student-centered research study, in which 66 subjects took part, and which aimed to assess the impact of emotions and feelings in the training of teachers of Spanish as a foreign language. Data was collected using individual and targeted group interviews, and analyzed using content analysis. The most significant data collected included constant references to the importance of liking (or disliking) the teacher, the student, the subject, the profession, etc. Bringing the three dimensions of the study (theoretical, methodological and empirical) together reveals an emerging affective henomenon of great emotional relevance in the classroom, which deserves to be deeply researched and studied. This phenomenon has been conceptualized and named ‘the like factor’ (gustatividad), as an initial contribution towards understanding it.
