Izvleček:The aim of this descriptive study was to know the prevalence of academic sef-efficacy (ASE) in college students of a private university of in Lima. Participants were 730 psychology students (76.6% women) with ages between 16 and 47 years old (M = 20.72) from the 1st to the last year of college. As instrument we used the Scale of Specific Perceived Self-Efficacy of Academic Situations. The preliminary analysis was based on factor analysis, having as main objective to explore the measurement equivalence regarding gender and year of study. Results showed that the 17.4% of the participants have low- ASE, 61.2% medium- ASE, and the 21.4% high- ASE. Male participants reported more ASE than their peer females, and the 5th-year students have more ASE than 1st-year students.
