Sumario:This paper seeks to identify relevant methodological and contextual aspects of scientific initiation projects in the virtual programs in journalism and communication offered by the Politécnico Grancolombiano. The methodology employed a systematic review of the formative research projects in the institution’s repository. By applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, an analysis matrix was constructed from all the documents deposited in the repository over a set period of time. The results show that 52% of high-quality research projects feature students from different regions of Colombia, highlighting the existence of collaborative work in virtual environments. The communicative products exhibit a clear relationship with students’ formative communication skills. The study conclusion proposes an ongoing analysis with tutors from different levels (as a pedagogical strategy) to consolidate projects in both programs at a disciplinary level.
