الملخص:The complexity of the phenomenon of violence in schools calls for programs oriented toward a comprehensive improvement of the living environment. This study presents an exploratory diagnosis of coexistence in ten schools in two states of the Mexican Republic: Michoacán and Nuevo León. A quantitative analysis of a diagnostic questionnaire on violence administered to 1,950 students is combined with a qualitative analysis of 50 in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and school directors. The results make it possible to understand the phenomenon in a situated manner, recognize invisible forms of violence, and inform models for future intervention based on a more participatory approach.
